Trying this out

I have never tried to blog using the email method...but I just thought I
would try it and see if it really works.

Fun days....

On Tuesday Riley had track and field day for the 4th graders from all of the elementary schools in our town. Thank goodness it was an absolutely beautiful day..73 degrees..sunny..slight breeze..gorgeous!! They were each assigned different relays to take part in and then the big finale is the tug of war contest where each 4th grade class has a team and the last team standing wins a trophy to keep at there school until next year..this year our school didn't get it..but they all had a good time.

Yesterday Ryan had his track and field day for the 5th grade and he was on the tug of war and they WON!!! So on Friday they get to have a party to celebrate getting the trophy..he was so excited he called me at work yesterday as soon as he got home from school to tell me.

Today they are doing Tree Trust at school..so they get to spend another full day outside weeding, laying down new wood chips, planting some new trees and shrubs, and just making everything nice looking. It is really a big deal at our school to do this every year and they do have a very nice outside area and it is very well taken care of.

And now we are on the count down of school days left for this school year..only 5 1/2 days left including today. I really don't understand why they do the 1/2 day...they bring all of there stuff home on the last full day of school so it is not like they have anything to do..oh well so be it!! I can't wait for school to be out so that we don't have to be so scheduled...even though I am the queen of schedules...I am ready for some relaxation at night.

I missed it...

I was just looking around at my blog and noticed that my archives dated back to May 2004...I missed my 1 year anniversary...of course that is if you just count the months and not the posts!! haha

Baby its cold outside...

Yesterday morning was the kids' concert outside on the playground at school and let me tell you...it was freezing out there. It was suppose to be in the mid 70's yesterday, but instead in the morning it was overcast, windy, and cold...which made it absolutely miserable to be out there sitting on metal folding chairs. My dad, niece, and great niece came to the concert too....and my great niece was a typical 3 year old...not sitting, talking loud, and screaming when she didn't get her way. I some ways I miss those days and then yesterday reminded me why I really don't!! haha

After the concert was over my niece (we will call her A from now on) and my great niece (we will call her B from now on) came over to my house to warm up and then we went out for lunch....chinese my favorite....then we got some movies to watch. We watched Oceans 12, but I fell asleep during it so I couldn't really tell you anything about it.

Yesterday we went and picked up Ryan's glasses..he is the first of the kids to need them..he also makes me very nervous because he is so rough on stuff...so they better last him.

The hubby has to work all weekend and I'm watching B this morning since A has to work until noon...I hopefully will get motivated enough to get my house cleaned...I have atleast started the dishwasher and done a load of laundry. At this rate I might be done with the house by midnight!!

Well off to referee between Riley and B...those two!! haha

How time flies.....

I am so bad about posting..but I guess I am not the only one.

Well the weekend at my sisters was an absolute blast. Very busy though Friday when we got there we were actually able to sit around and visit with both of my sisters, Saturday we had my nephews first communion so that pretty much took up the whole day, and Sunday us girls went shopping for 6 hours with a 9 year old and a 3 year old...not sure which age is better to take shopping!! haha

Saturday night at my sisters after everyone else had left and it was just our side of the family we sat down and played the game Catch Phrase..this game is soooo fun..my dad decided to play with us..he cheats so bad..but we all had a blast and laughed tons.

Last week was just trying to get caught up on sleep and things around the house...because we all know the hubby ain't going to do when your gone!! haha This week Riley has had a bunch of homework, so we have been working on that every night. Tomorrow I took the day off on vacation..I figured I needed one day to myself before school is out..also the kids have there Spring concert in the morning and as long as it doesn't rain than they are having it out on the playground and you can bring lawn chairs to sit on and watch the concert..I think that sounds like fun.

Well I suppose..even though I don't have to work tomorrow I still have 2 kidlings to get up and ready and myself...so Later...............

Going away!!

So tomorrow morning I am leaving to go to Illinois for the weekend...I am so excited I get to see both of my sisters!! My sisters and I have become extremely close since our mom passed away..not that we weren't close before but we are even closer now..it just really sucks that we all live in different states.

My nephew receives his first communion on saturday, so my dad, niece, nephew, Riley and I are all leaving in the morning and not coming back until Monday afternoon. The boys aren't real happy with me since they don't get to come along, but because of the gas prices we decided that it was best just to take one vehicle so there is only so much room..but ya know they will get over it!! Plus Tim has to work on saturday and the boys are old enough to take care of themselves for the time he is at work and have a teenager and a pre-teen we all know that they will end up sleeping for half of the day anyway.

Today after work Riley, Ryan, and a couple of the neighbor kids went to the park that is only a couple of blocks away from our house and Riley took a nose dive off of the monkey bars. Ryan rode his bike back to get us because her nose was bleeding..when Tim walked in with her there was blood everywhere it was awful..once I finally got her calmed down enough to clean her up it of course was not as bad as it had looked but still bad. Her little nose was all swollen and she has a nice fat lip with a few little scrapes inside her upper lip where I am sure that her teeth hit. I told her that her aunts are going to think I punched her...which finally made her laugh and calm down more. No matter how old your kids are when they get hurt it hurts you.

Well I should get going to bed so that I am refreshed in the morning to start out the drive.

Later...
