Only 2 blocks away

Well the radio just announced about 15 minutes ago that the water was now coming up to houses that are 2 blocks away from us. This just sucks!!! They don't expect the water to crest until midnight or so and there is still more rain coming people...I am just freaking out!!

Tim is home now because at 12:30 the city shut the power off to the plant he works at and kicked them out, so he has checked the basement and it is still dry so that is a good thing. If the water comes up though we have got to start getting everything out of there and power shut off to things...how fricking lovely.

I'm just going to bitch and moan for a while...everything will be fine...water will start going down soon...like in 5 minutes...who am I kidding...I'm just going to breathe and everything will be just fine!!

Schools closed????

This morning all of the schools around our area and ours too were cancelled today due to flooding. I have never heard of school being closed due to flooding, maybe because that usually happens in the summer not almost fall. At break time a coworker and I went driving around town to check it out...yes I'm nosey...all of the lakes and rivers are completely out of there banks and still rising. It is just nuts and on the radio they keep asking people to please help sandbag at different places around town for businesses and homes that are in danger. Then the hubby called around 10:30 and informed me that they were just informed that they need to shut there doors and get sandbagging because the river runs right behind his work...they all had to move there cars to higher grounds so they wouldn't get stuck if the water decided to rise quickly. What a mess!!!

Other than the weather things are pretty boring around the home front. Last night took care of Brookie, she is such a monster!! haha We trimmed her bangs because they were hanging in her eyes, I have done this probably 3 other times, and lastnight she just wouldn't have anything to do with it. It is a good thing her mom was there to save her from getting hogtied...just kidding her mom still could have been there!! haha

Looks like it is about time for me to head home for lunch and check on the kidlings and see what they have destroyed today and how many neighbor kids they have decided to house for the day...that just totally drives me up the wall...do parents not care where there kids are or do they just know that the whole neighborhood is at our house and they don't care???? Oh well....

9 year old girl for free, talks all the time, doesn't listen, and someone better take her before I ring her neck!! Tonight the hubby and the oldest left to go to the hubbys friends for the weekend and so I told the other two that NO one is sleeping over this weekend. Well we went to my dad's for dinner and when we got home Riley took the phone in her room while I was doing something and invited her friend to spend the night. I could be the bad ass that I really want to be and tell her friend she has to go home, but nooooo I let her stay and now Riley is all mine tomorrow...I told her she is going to work to pay off for not listening.

Ryan on the other hand is being really good...usually we don't click...which I feel horrible for saying because he is my son and I love him to death...but sometimes when I think you are too much alike you don't always see eye to eye and that is how we are. But of course we still have tomorrow and sunday to see how if it holds true for the whole weekend.

Tomorrow I have to babysit my great niece in the morning, so in the afternoon I am hoping to go shopping. I finally found a comforter set that I like and Tim says he will go with it, so I want to go get it. Next I'll have to work on Tim to get our bedroom painted, it is still purple from when it was Riley's room. We switched rooms with her because ours was bigger and with her being a girl and all we decided it would be better for her, oh and she can make an even bigger mess in there now...which after tomorrow will be spotless!! haha

Not too much going on around here lately. I think we are in the groove of school again and I'm liking it...there is a great routine going in the morning and in the evening and I love me some routine in my life. I am kind of a freak about routine and so when it does not go as planned I get a little off and that is scary!! haha

Tim and Lee are leaving friday night to go to Tim's friends up in the cities for the weekend so I will be down to two and since Tim is going to be gone there will be NO sleep overs!!! YEA!! Of course the other two probably are not going to really like that...but I'M the BOSS!!

Well only two days left till the weekend...I can't wait except I do have to get up early on saturday to take care of my great niece...but oh well.

WTF was I thinking

Tonight the youngest is having two neighbor girls spend the night. They are all being extremely hyper and annoying the shit out of me. I think if they open and slam her bedroom door one more time I'm going go slam them into it...not really but the visions are helping me stay put.

This morning Tim (aka hubby) and I rearranged the kitchen cupboards and organized all of the storage containers and stuff...this drives him nuts when I do this and I don't usually allow him to help me but I accepted it today with open arms...I'll probably have to pay for that now!!haha Anyway..I have come to the conclusion that I buy way too many can goods..if that is really possible..and I think I have something with glasses because we have about 30 cups and we only use probably 10 of them..must be time to do some purging.

Well I should probably get the beasts to bed since it is now almost midnight and I am ready for bed...so they are too!! haha

One down

Well we have made it through our first week of school..granted it was only 3 days...but we made it!! The kids all seem to like there teachers and so far only the oldest has had any homework..to tell you the truth that is the only thing I dread with them back in school is getting homework done each night..they just never cooperate!!

Other than school starting nothing much going on..the hubby's car broke down and that cost us a wad..so not real happy there but what are you going to do when you both work during the day..he can't keep riding his bike to work..I'm not that mean!! haha

Well since it is friday night we are down to 2 of our own kids and one neighbor kid spending the night..I guess this what we get for being so boring the other night when all 3 of them spent the night at there friends house.

I hope everyone has a great and safe holiday weekend. We are just going to vegetate around the homestead and hopefully get some much needed cleaning done.
