TONS to write about...

Well I guess I didn't think it had actually been that long ago since I had last written..but I guess I was wrong!!

On the 11th the boys went with my dad to Chicago to take care of my sisters two boys while they went away on my brother in laws business trip to Canada and my niece who is just absolutely wonderful took Riley with her to Iowa to visit my nieces dad...they left the 11th at noon and she didn't come back until the 13th at noon. So the hubby and I had the weekend to ourselves..I honestly can not remember the last time we had that much alone time together. On saturday we went out for dinner at my favorite mexican restaurant, got some movies, and DQ for dessert came home and watched a movie and just completely relaxed. I made sure I had the whole house cleaned before the hubby got home from work on saturday so that we would not have to do a thing the whole weekend but spend time together. It was a WONDERFUL time!!

This past weekend we had a big festival in town celebrating SPAM (the canned stuff). We are so proud to be called SPAMtown, USA...not really ya know!! They had a skateboarding demonstration that the boys wanted to see, so we watched that, they had games for the kids to play, and a craft area where the kids could make some kind of noise maker out of a can of SPAM and beads...it is really annoying by the way!! haha At night they had 3 celebrity dads here...it was the dad from Happy Days, That 70's show, and Jim Belushi from According to Jim. We could see them we just couldn't hear them being interviewed. After they did the interviews Jim Belushi and the Sacred Hearts performed...I tell you he is a wonderful performing...he was a blast to watch. When they were done performing than they had fireworks down by the river and so we stayed and watched those..they were very good and the kids loved it.

Now we are on the countdown until my sisters come home to visit...one is staying the whole month of July and the other is just coming for a weekend. We are going to have a big 40th surprise party for my sister while everyone is home, so this weekend my niece (her mom is the one turning 40) and I are going to go shopping and get the last of the stuff that we need for the party. We have some great games planned for the kids and then the adults will have there games to play. I can't wait...but it also being held at my house in the garage...so now we get the pleasure of cleaning it up in there so that we can fit the tables and chairs in there, but it is definately going to be worth it. She is going to be so shocked!! haha

Well now that this has turned into a book I should probably go and help the hubby get supper ready..

It has only been 2 days....

Today is officially the third day of summer vacation for the kids. It is
still morning and the kids are still in bed...so I'm not counting today in
my title!!

The past two days have been torture...the kids are all extremely moody and
argue about everything...things better change soon or I am going to go all
crazy on them!! They have had two days to get the living room cleaned
up..not done, they have had two days to get there laundry gathered..not
done, and they have had two days to get there rooms picked up..not done!! I
informed them lastnight that I really hope that they are not looking forward
to getting an allowance this week..because it is not going to happen when
they don't do anything but lay around all day!! I'm such a beast!! haha

We had a great weekend..the weather was ok..but we had a friend come down
from the cities and visit saturday night. I had won tickets to the Demo
Derby at the fairgrounds so the hubby and Travis (our friend) took Ryan and
the neighbor boy to those and I took Lee, Riley, and the neighbor girl to
the movie Madagascar..yeah not really sure on how good that movie was
because I kept dozing off..I am getting so old!! After Tim and Travis got
back from there thing than we left Lee in charge of Riley and her friend who
was spending the night and we all headed downtown to the bars..it was so
nice to just sit, talk, and not to be mean but away from the kids just for a
few hours. After leaving the bars we came back to our house and had a few
more drinks and sat outside and talked until 5:30 in the morning..poor Tim
had to work sunday..he was a bit tired!! It was just so nice to have
Travis come down for the night.

Lastnight my niece took Ryan and Riley out to the nature center because they
had some activities going on out there for the kids. They had snakes,
frogs, tadpoles, and some other things for the kids to hold and touch..Riley
loves any kind of animal so she thought this was just the coolest.

Now today we are having thunderstorms..so what a blah day!!

no title

Over the weekend I had written up a whole bunch of stuff while I was in
email and then I put the wrong address down and lost it all and just haven't
really been on much to redo it all.

Memorial weekend was really nice..just bummed around a little, did a little
housecleaning, and enjoyed the time off from work. Saturday my dad, niece,
and I went to the cemetery to put the urns out for my mom..the cemetery is
one place I really dislike going to..I don't go there very often which some
people think is just awful..but I think you need to do what feels right to
you. I do talk to my mom often when I am alone, but just can't bring myself
to go to the cemetery to do that.

Memorial day was my moms birthday..she would have been 62. She was so
young..only 49 when she passed away..and has missed so many great things
since she has been gone. I find the month of May to be very depressing
still after 13 years and my poor dad you can always tell when the days get
closer to the day she passed because he gets kind of moody and has since the
first year she was gone..it is sad still.

Yesterday was Ryan's 5th grade graduation party at school, so I took the day
off on vacation so that I could help out with it. They got to have pizza,
play games, and then were given sharpies so that they could have all of
there friends sign there tshirts. It was a great afternoon and beautiful
weather. And tomorrow is the last day of school...YEA!!
